| Caption | Phase-contrast (A,B) and immunofluorescent (C,D) micrographs of 11.5 optic cup, illustrated at both low and high magnifications. Type II collagen is largely confined to the forming posterior chamber of the eye, between the basal (inner-facing) surface of the neural retina and the medial aspect of the lens vesicle (arrow in A). At higher magnification it appears that the immunolocalization may also be associated with the formation of the hyaloid plexus (arrow in C). rpe, presumptive pigmented retina; nr, neural retina; lv, lens vesicle. Bars=96 microns (A) and 24.4 microns (C). | |||||||||||||||
