A-F show in situ hybridizations. In G, hindbrain was first hybridized with a Gata2 probe, then processed for immunostaining for the Isl1 protein. In H, Isl1 hybridization is shown. After in situ hybridizations on whole embryos or neural tube hindbrains were flat-mounted, rostral side up. lc, locus coeruleus; nIII, common oculomotor nucleus; nIV, trochlear nucleus; nV, trigeminal nucleus; r, rhombomere.
