Gsc RNA staining is purple and HNF-3beta protein staining is brown. In A and B, arrow shows cells that express both Gsc and Hnf3b, while arrowhead points out regions that express only Hnf3b. B is a transverse section approximately halfway down the length of the primitive streak of a mid-streak stage embryo. C is a frontal view. D shows a transverse section at the level of the forebrain of the embryo shown in C; ventral forebrain (arrowhead) and foregut (arrow) are shown. In F, arrow points to notochord. In G and H, arrow shows oral epithelium. Anterior is to the top, except for A where anterior is to the left.
