| Caption | Dorsal is to the top and the midline is to the right. A' and B' are counterstained with DAPI. Long arrows show where null mutant L1-positive axons are much more fasciculated in the dorsal half of ventral thalamus than in wild-type. Short arrows show where L1-positive axons narrow to a single dense fascicle at the lateral surface of the ventral half of thalamus. Arrowheads in B indicate where L1-expressing axons accumulate in an acellular knot at the border between ventral and dorsal thalamus in the null mutant.
