Glossary Term Embryonic Stem (ES) Cells
Definition Undifferentiated cells derived from blastocyst-stage embryos. ES cells can differentiate in culture to a number of different cell types. When incorporated into chimeric mouse embryos, they are totipotent: they can differentiate into any cell type in the mouse.
