Definition: A parasitic helminthiasis infectious disease that involves parasitic infection of the eyes by Philophthalmus species. External ocular philophthalmiasis manifests as follicular conjunctivitis and superficial keratitis. Sub-conjunctival ocular philophthalmiasis consists of a mild edema with minimal cellular reaction.
