Expression is as a clustered arrangement underneath the lamina densa in two different parts of the skin. Immunogold clusters are distributed along the length of the anchoring-like fibrils that emanate from the lamina densa and extend to cells of the connective tissue. There are also localizatiosn in the lamina lucida. Absent in interstitial collagen fibers.
