(a) Low expression levels were noted before birth, while the level of expression was increased during the secretory phase of tooth development, and then decreased as the tooth germ approached maturity. The level of expression was over 11-fold higher at P5 compared with E15.5, while at P21 the level was only 1.6-fold higher.
