Reference: J:30059 Ohsaki Y, et al., Localization of types I and III collagen and fibronectin in the developing mouse palatal shelves. Acta Anat (Basel). 1995;153(3):161-7
Assay type: Immunohistochemistry
MGI Accession ID: MGI:6197550
Gene symbol: Col1a2
Gene name: collagen, type I, alpha 2
Antibody: Anti-Type I collagen
Detection system: Secondary antibody coupled to rhodamine
Assay notes: Fixative: ethanol/acetic acid (99:1). The specificity of the antibody used was not detailed; both family members have been annotated. See Col1a1 assay MGI:6197519.
Results
Specimen 1A: embryonic day 13.5 (more )
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS21: palatal shelf Present Non-Uniform 1A Expression was almost homogeneous in distribution throughout the palatal shelves, except beneath the epithelial basement membrane where more intense staining was observed.

Specimen 2A: embryonic day 14.0 (more )
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS22: palatal shelf Present Non-Uniform 2A Immunofluorescence in the nasal to the medial sides of palatal shelves and the area adjacent to the maxillary blastoma increased rapidly, while that in the oral region of the palatal shelves did not. This distribution pattern was most distinct in the middle hard palate region and extended anteriorly, as well as posteriorly with development.

Specimen 3A: embryonic day 14.5 (more )
Note: The palatal shelf is in the vertical position. The anterior hard palate region.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS22: palatal shelf Present Regionally restricted 3A Expression extended both anteriorly and posteriorly but not into the soft palate region.

Specimen 3C: embryonic day 14.5 (more )
Note: The palatal shelf is in the vertical position. The middle hard plalate region.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS22: palatal shelf Present Regionally restricted 3C Expression extended both anteriorly and posteriorly but not into the soft palate region. Intense staining was detected adjacent to the maxillary blastoma.

Specimen 3E: embryonic day 14.5 (more )
Note: The palatal shelf is in the vertical position. The posterior hard palate region.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS22: palatal shelf Present Regionally restricted 3E Expression extended both anteriorly and posteriorly but not into the soft palate region. Intense staining was detected adjacent to the maxillary blastoma.

Specimen 3G: embryonic day 14.5 (more )
Note: The palatal shelf is in the vertical position. The soft palate region.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS22: palatal shelf Present Regionally restricted 3G Expression extended both anteriorly and posteriorly but not into the soft palate region.

Specimen 4A: embryonic day 14.5 (more )
Note: The palatal shelf is in the process of elevation. The anterior hard palate region.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS22: palatal shelf Present 4A

Specimen 4C: embryonic day 14.5 (more )
Note: The palatal shelf is in the process of elevation. The middle hard plalate region.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS22: palatal shelf Present Regionally restricted 4C Intense staining was detected adjacent to the maxillary blastoma.

Specimen 4E: embryonic day 14.5 (more )
Note: The palatal shelf is in the process of elevation. The posterior hard palate region.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS22: palatal shelf Present 4E

Specimen 4G: embryonic day 14.5 (more )
Note: The palatal shelf is in the process of elevation. The soft palate region.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS22: palatal shelf Present 4G
