Assay type: RT-PCR
MGI Accession ID: MGI:2655362
Gene symbol: Il11ra2
Gene name: interleukin 11 receptor subunit alpha 2
Probe: Il11ra-pA, Il11ra-pB
Assay notes: The purpose of this assay was to differentiate between Il11ra1 and Il11ra2 in the tissue by the differential pattern of restriction enzyme digestion. In this amplified fragment, Il11ra2 has a BamHI site and Il11ra1 does not. The amplified products were undigested 170bp bands (-) or digested with BamHI (+), Southern blotted and detected with a mixture of 2 probes. The probes were designed such that all restriction fragments would be hybridized.

Notes:
(a) The absence of any BamHI digested fragments indicates that no Il11ra2 was present in this tissue.
