This probe is a mixture that also recognizes Smcy (MGI:99780). This assay was designed to clarify that expression of the Y homolog (Smcy) in males did not eliminate the male/female dosage imbalance of the X homolog (Smcx) shown in Figure 5. Graphin Figure 6B displays summed expression of the X and Y homolog pair quantified from this northern blot in males vs. females. The probe used in this assay was 5' labelled.
