Reference: J:48569 Grove EA, et al., The hem of the embryonic cerebral cortex is defined by the expression of multiple Wnt genes and is compromised in Gli3-deficient mice. Development. 1998 Jun;125(12):2315-25
Assay type: RNA in situ
MGI Accession ID: MGI:2136867
Gene symbol: Fgf8
Gene name: fibroblast growth factor 8
Probe: Fgf8 cDNA1
Probe preparation: Antisense RNA
Visualized with: Alkaline phosphatase
Assay notes: Authors report that the probe was derived from a 0.8 kb mouse Fgf8 cDNA (Crossley and Martin, 1995). One- and two-color in situ hybridization was performed using digoxygenin- and/or fluorescein-labeled probes, detected with alkaline phosphatase-conjugated anti-digoxigenin or anti-fluorescein antibodies. Color reactions were carried out using different alkaline phosphatase substrates, resulting in different colored products as indicated in some of the figure legends.
Results
Specimen not shown: embryonic day 12.5 (more )
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS20: telencephalon Present Regionally restricted Expression in the medial wall, just rostral to the site of multiple Wnt gene expression.

Specimen 7D: embryonic day 12.5; Gli3Xt-J/Gli3Xt-J (more )
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS20: telencephalon Strong Regionally restricted 7D In brains of non-exencephalic homozygous mutant mice, strong expression is maintained along the dorsal midline in the 'bridge' region between hemispheres.
