• vascular smooth muscle fail to exhibit NO- and ANP-dependent suppression of intracellular calcium release unlike similarly treated wild-type muscle
• colon smooth muscle fails to exhibit NO- and cGMP-mediated relaxation unlike in wild-type mice
• phenylephrine-treated aortas fail to exhibit relaxation in response to cGMP unlike in similarly treated wild-type aortas
• NO-treated aortas exhibit a slight reduction in relaxation compared to in similarly treated wild-type aortas
• acetylcholine-induced relaxation of phenylephrine-treated aortas is almost completely suppressed compared to in similarly treated wild-type aortas
• atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP)-induced relaxation of aortas was strongly impaired compared with similarly treated wild-type aortas

digestive/alimentary system
• enlarged gastrointestinal tract

cardiovascular system
• LPS-treated mice fail to exhibit a decrease in mean arterial blood pressure unlike in similarly treated wild-type mice
• however, basal mean arterial blood pressure is normal
• vascular smooth muscle fail to exhibit NO- and ANP-dependent suppression of intracellular calcium release unlike similarly treated wild-type muscle
