• F. tularensis live vaccine strain-, Sendai virus-, or synthetic B-form dsDNA (poly-dA:dT)-treated thioglycollate-elicited macrophages secrete less IFN-beta than similarly treated wild-type cells
• mCMV-treated thioglycollate-elicited macrophages fail to secrete IFN-beta unlike similarly treated wild-type cells
• F. tularensis live vaccine strain-treated thioglycollate-elicited macrophages secrete less IL1B than similarly treated wild-type cells
• however, synthetic B-form dsDNA (poly-dA:dT)-treated mice produce normal amounts of IL1-beta
• F. tularensis live vaccine strain-treated thioglycollate-elicited macrophages secrete less IL1B and IFN-beta than similarly treated wild-type cells
• mCMV-treated thioglycollate-elicited macrophages fail to secrete IFN-beta unlike similarly treated wild-type cells
• Sendai virus-treated splenocytes secrete less IFN-beta than similarly treated wild-type cells
