• formation of vesicles is frequent on the ventral surface of the tongue

digestive/alimentary system

• large patches of hair loss over most of body at 15-18 days of age
• at 2 weeks of age, during the second hair cycle, appearance of fur is normal
• alopecia reappears around 8 weeks
• hair easily plucked from follicles at 15-18 days of age
• hair loss evident prior to weaning
• hair loss very severe
• hair fibers become dystrophic and disintegrate in catagen and telogen
