behavior/neurological
• females exhibit learning deficits in the Morris water maze
• females exhibit memory deficits in the Morris water maze
• in the elevated plus maze, females spend more time in the open arms compared to wild-type mice, suggesting loss of fear of open space
• however, mice show no differences in anxiety-like behaviors, spending the normal percentage of time in the center of the open-field and no differences in the acoustic startle response
• females, but not males, exhibit greater traveling distance, increased velocity and prolonged mobility time in the open field test both in the active dark and inactive light phases, indicating hyperactivity
• females exhibit hyperactivity in the elevated plus maze

hematopoietic system
• bone marrow shows depletion of lymphoid and hematopoietic cells
• the bone marrow in the femur and sternum of females is depleted in the body of the bone, with only a few cells in the femur head; the depleted bone marrow cells are replaced by erythrocytes
• the bone marrow of femur in males shows partial depletion of cells
• spleen shows depletion of lymphoid and hematopoietic cells

immune system
