renal/urinary system
• sclerotic index is significantly increased at 2 and 6 months of age but not at 1 year of age
• however, urinary albumin-creatinine ratio, blood urea nitrogen, and serum creatinine levels are similar to controls at 2, 6, and 12 months of age
• increased fibrotic index at 6 months of age, but not at 2 months or 1 year of age

homeostasis/metabolism
• elevated increase in the urinary albumin-creatinine ratio following adriamycin-induced kidney injury
• however, blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine levels in adriamycin-treated mutant mice are similar to treatment-matched controls
• after adriamycin-induced kidney injury the sclerotic index is significantly increased compared to treatment-matched controls
• marked decrease in density of foot processes in the glomerular basement membrane compared to controls
