behavior/neurological
N
• mice show no difference in the time spent in the center zone of the open-field test, no differences in the elevated plus maze test, no differences in the latency to first enter the light box or frequency of entering the light box in the light/dark box test, and no difference in the distance or latency in reaching the platform in the learning and reverse learning stages of the Morris water maze, indicating no significant effect on anxiety levels
• both males and females show impairments in distinguishing novel mice from familiar ones in the social novelty phase of the three-chamber test
• mice show decreased forelimb grip strength
• males exhibit hyperactivity in the open-field test
• mice bury more marbles than wild-type mice
• mice show social interaction deficits in the intruder test (J:341142)
• in the three-chamber test, male mice do not show a preference for spending more time with a stranger mouse as seen in wild-type mice indicating reduced social preference (J:341142)
• however, females show a normal preference in the social approach test (J:341142)
• the complexity of vocalization is different with mice producing more short and downward vocalizations but fewer U-shaped inverted and complex vocalizations

growth/size/body
• mice weigh less at P21 and into adulthood

muscle

nervous system
• increase in anterior-posterior length, cortical length, and cortical area of brain
• mice show disrupted development of dorsal raphe nucleus neurons
• mice injected with an adeno-associated virus expressing a reporter show reduced dendritic complexity of dorsal raphe nucleus neurons
• increase in the thickness of the caudal cortex, however the proportion of the upper layer cortex (Cux1+ layer) is reduced
• increase in the cell density of the cortex
• cortex shows blurred boundaries between the Cux1-positive layer and the layer beneath it
• the length and thickness of the postsynaptic density of the dorsal raphe nucleus neurons are reduced
• however, the cleft width and the number of synaptic vesicles is similar to wild-type mice
• mice show reduced number of activated neurons in the dorsal raphe nucleus during the intruder test and marble-burying test, indicating altered excitability of dorsal raphe nucleus neurons during social interaction and repetitive behavior

taste/olfaction
N
• mice exhibit normal olfaction, responding normally to both non-social (almond and banana) and social cues (male and female urine), even sniffing longer in the first trial of female urine
