Ezhipem1Marg mutation (0 available); any Ezhip mutation (11 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
reproductive system
• older females (16 weeks) show a reduction in primordial follicle number and total follicle number indicating a progressive, age related, exhaustion of primordial follicle reserve
• however, no differences are seen in the number of primordial, primary, and secondary/antral follicles of pre-pubertal females
• ovaries appear smaller
• however, uterine horns appear normal
• ovary weight is reduced by about 30%
• total number of pups obtained from females decrease each month as females age
• females give birth to only one litter over a period of 20 weeks compared to 3 litters for wild-type females, with fewer pups than in wild-type
• females give birth to an average of 3 to 4 pups per litter compared to 8 pups per litter for wild-type

mortality/aging
• total number of pups obtained from females decrease each month as females age

• males are fertile, sizes of germ cell subpopulations are unaffected, and although spermatozoa show slightly less progressive motility and are a bit more static, motility is not substantially affected
