N
• mice exhibit normal body weight at 4 and 10 weeks after birth
• on a normal chow diet, mice have body fat contents at 24.4%, 23.6% and 22.7% of their respective body weights, compared with 13.2%, 10.0% and 8.6% of body weights from wild-type controls at 28, 37 and 45 weeks, respectively
• after feeding high-fat diet for 10 weeks, % of fat mass increases to 27.8% relative to 17.8% in similarly fed wild-type controls
• on a normal chow diet, mice have lean mass contents at 68.7%, 68.9% and 69.5% compared with 80.1%, 82.9% and 84.5% in wild-type mice at 28, 37 and 45 weeks, respectively
• after feeding high-fat diet for 10 weeks, % of lean mass is significantly lower than that in similarly fed wild-type controls
• after feeding high-fat diet for 6weeks, adult mice show significantly higher body weight than similarly fed wild-type controls
• on a normal chow diet, mice develop mild mature-onset obesity with higher fat content and lower lean mass relative to wild-type controls
• mice develop more severe obesity after feeding high-fat diet for 14 weeks

adipose tissue
• on a normal chow diet, adult mice show increased subcutaneous fat depots relative to wild-type controls
• on a normal chow diet, adult mice show increased visceral and epididymal fat depots relative to wild-type controls
• on a normal chow diet, the size of adipocytes in white adipose tissue is larger than that in wild-type controls

homeostasis/metabolism
• mice develop more severe obesity after feeding high-fat diet for 14 weeks
• on a normal chow diet, adult mice show impaired glucose tolerance with higher blood glucose at 30, 60 and 120 min after glucose administration in the GTT relative to wild-type controls
• mice show more severe glucose intolerance after feeding high-fat diet for 14 weeks
• on a normal chow diet, adult mice show decreased insulin sensitivity in the ITT relative to wild-type controls
• mice show more severe insulin resistance after feeding high-fat diet for 14 weeks
• mice show increased pancreatic lipase activity in extracted pancreatic juice relative to wild-type controls

integument
• on a normal chow diet, adult mice show increased subcutaneous fat depots relative to wild-type controls
