• mice show altered extracellular matrix and fibrosis in subcutaneous and visceral adipose tissue
• however, mice do not develop gross anatomic or metabolic signs of partial lipodystrophy, and mice fed a high-fat diet for 28 weeks do not show differences in the ratios of adipose tissue mass to total body mass, in plasma cholesterol, triglycerides, or free fatty acid concentrations, and only an insignificant trend toward impaired glucose tolerance
• adipocyte surface area is smaller in subcutaneous adipose tissue
• adipocyte surface area is larger in parametrial adipose tissue
• adipocyte surface area is larger in parametrial adipose tissue
• parametrial adipose tissue shows altered extracellular matrix and fibrosis
