nervous system
N
• mice exhibit normal brain anatomy, NMDA- or APMPA-excitatory postsynaptic currents, number and total length of dendrites and axonal growth
• spine length is increased with deficits in the actin cytoskeleton and cofilin compared to in wild-type mice
• reduced density of asymmetric synapses with increased postsynaptic area or spine area
• reduced field excitatory postsynaptic potentials over a wide range of stimulation intensities
• induced by high frequency stimulation
• however, long-term depression induced by application of metabotropic glutamate receptor agonist (RS)-3,5-DHPG
• mild deficit, only at 25 ms interpulse interval points

cellular
• dendritic spine length is increased with deficits in the actin cytoskeleton and cofilin compared to in wild-type mice

homeostasis/metabolism
N
• mice fed normal chow or a high-fat diet exhibit normal fasting blood glucose levels and cardiac triglyceride levels
• mice fed a high-fat diet exhibit slightly less weight gain compared with wild-type mice
• mice fed a high-fat diet do not exhibit an increase in serum cholesterol unlike wild-type mice
• lower in mice fed a high-fat diet compared with mice fed standard chow
• mice fed a high-fat diet exhibit improved insulin tolerance compared with wild-type mice

cardiovascular system
• mice fed a high-fat diet exhibit normal heart weight, left ventricular mass and left ventricular end-diastolic internal diameter unlike wild-type mice
• mice fed a high-fat diet do not exhibit a change in cardiac function unlike wild-type mice

growth/size/body
N
• mice fed normal chow exhibit normal body weight
• mice fed a high-fat diet exhibit slightly less weight gain compared with wild-type mice
