nervous system
• internal capsule defasciculation at P28
• at P28, cortical neurons aberrantly project through the anterior commissure, unlike in wild-type brains
• ectopic axon bundles extend within the internal capsule toward the external capsule and continue to grow ventrally
• high-angular-resolution diffusion imaging (HARDI) tractography confirmed that axon fibers in dorsal areas of the neocortex merge with the anterior commissure, unlike in wild-type brains
• however, class-specific identity and distribution of cortical projection neurons is unaltered
• expansion of the anterior commissure at P28
• expansion of the brain external capsule at P28
• at P28, the internal capsule contains smaller than wild type and partly unfasciculated axon bundles
• internal capsule reduction at P28
• at P2, DiI anterograde injections in deep layers of the somatosensory cortex revealed axons ectopically crossing at the anterior commissure and extending ventrally and rostrally, unlike in wild-type mice

nervous system
• at P7, a large proportion of PLAP-positive axons extended aberrantly to contralateral targets, crossing the midline via an enlarged anterior commissure, unlike in control mice where PLAP-positive axons are exclusively observed extending along ipsilateral, corticofugal trajectories
• a reduction of PLAP-positive axons is found in the cerebral peduncle and the cervical spinal cord, canonical targets of the corticospinal tract in wild-type mice
• enlarged anterior commissure at P7
