• fewer GAD65 and GAD67 positive cells enter the pallium and top of the cerebral cortex at E14.5 (impaired tangential migration of cortical inhibitory interneuron precursors)
• doublecortin positive subventricular zone cells at higher levels at the posterior of the rostral migratory stream than at the anterior end
• double cortin positive cells are disorganized on the lateral ventricle wall before migration
• migration of cells out of explants cultured in Matrigel is reduced
• migration of cells is slower
• fewer GABA cells in the cerebral cortex at E16.5
• marked loss of granule cells in adults
• reduced in size whereas brain size is normal
