cardiovascular system
• mice show an increase in frequency and duration of ventricular arrhythmogenesis during reperfusion immediately following transient ischemia, with all but one (which showed atrioventricular block) showing ventricular tachycardia
• pretreatment of mutants with spironolactone diminishes the differences in reperfusion arrhythmia incidence and halves the reperfusion ventricular tachycardia duration
• 9 month old females show prolonged QT(c) interval, indicating delayed ventricular repolarization
• treatment of 9 month old females with aldosterone receptor antagonist spironolactone results in no QT(c) prolongation
• prolonged T wave in 9 month old females
