vision/eye
• at 1 month of age, IS lengths are approximately 50% shorter than controls with no obvious thinning of the ONL
• at 1 month of age, OS lengths are approximately 50% shorter than controls with no obvious thinning of the ONL
• photoreceptors degenerated progressively in homozygous mutant mice from 1 month to 1 year of age, the latest time point examined
• photoreceptor nuclei were reduced in thickness by ~20% at 4 months and ~60% by 1 year of age
• patches of depigmentation that is readily discernable by indirect ophthalmoscopy at 5 months of age
• late onset retinal spotting
• cone b-wave ERGs were comparable to controls at 4 weeks of age but by 17 weeks, the amplitudes were reduced compared to controls
• severely impaired rod ERGs; rod responses were absent by 4 weeks of age
