Find Mice Using the International Mouse Strain Resource (IMSR)
Mouse lines carrying:
Tg(RP23-326M22)760She mutation (1 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
behavior/neurological
• decreased forelimb grip strength in comparison to hemizygotes and controls
• increased motor activity as determined by number of interruptions to photo cell beams
• reduced rearing activity
• mice are very active and difficult to handle
• heightened approach response (approach with a blunt object)

growth/size/body
• mice are slender and small
• growth retardation in homozygotes is significantly reduced compared to hemizygotes and controls

Mouse lines carrying:
Tg(RP23-326M22)760She mutation (1 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
behavior/neurological
• mice spend a decreased proportion of time in the center of the open field test
• although not statistically significant, 20 week old mice exhibited hyper-responsiveness to both the hotplate and tail flick tests
• in response to the cage-top hang test, 20 week old mice easily fall off the cage-top
• decreased forelimb grip strength
• shortened stance
• increased motor activity as determined by number of interruptions to photo cell beams
• mice exhibit a shorter, wider gait and an increased sway distance
• decreased rearing behavior at 10 and 20 weeks, although behavior is similar to controls at 5 weeks
• mice exhibit overtly active, wild running behavior
• mice exhibit increased motor activity at 5 and 10 weeks, but behave similarly to controls by 20 weeks
• transgenics are socially dominant compared to nontransgenics as determined by the tube test

liver/biliary system
• hepatocytes contain a large nucleus altering the nucleus:cytoplasm ratio, however, levels of liver enzymes are similar to controls

growth/size/body
• proportionally decreased head and body size as compared to controls
• mice exhibit decreased body weight up to 20 weeks of age, but weight is similar to controls at 30 weeks
• mice exhibit decreased body length up to 20 weeks of age, but are similar to controls at 30 weeks
• males exhibit greater growth retardation than females
