• mice exhibit normal macrophage migration and chemotactic response
• following ovalbumin immunization and challenge, fewer eosinophils infiltrate the respiratory tract compared to in similarly treated wild-type mice
• following ovalbumin immunization and challenge, mice exhibit reduced CD11c+ dendritic cells migrate into the bronchial lymph nodes, eosinophils infiltrate the respiratory tract, and IL4 in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid compared with similarly treated wild-type mice
• however, T helper 1 response following viral infection is normal
• in vitro, dendritic cell chemotaxis in response to MIP-1alpha (Ccl3) is impaired compared with similarly treated wild-type cells
• in vivo, mature dendritic cells from the skin exhibit impaired migration to the lymph nodes compared with wild-type cells
• following ovalbumin immunization and challenge, fewer CD11c+ dendritic cells migrate into the bronchial lymph nodes compared to in similarly treated wild-type mice
• following ovalbumin immunization and challenge, less IL4 is found within the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid compared to in similarly treated wild-type mice
