• increase in proliferation of neuronal precursors as measured by increased BrdU positive cells and diluted staining.
• an increase in number of double labeled cells at P21 when injected at E14.5 with IdU and 10 hours later with CldU indicating an increased proportion of neurons have been generated from precursors that reentered the cell cycle
• brains are moderately but consistently bigger in volume
• both cell density and the thickness of upper cortical layers (II--IV) are greater
• selective increase in the number of upper layer neurons
• moderate increase in the thickness of upper layers
• at E15.5 the number of Ki67+ or BrdU+ cells is dramatically increased
• the number of cells in basal mitosis is greatly increased in the subventricular zone at E15.5
• the number of intermediate neuronal progenitors in the proliferative regions at E15.5 is dramatically increased
• an increase in the total number of upper layer neurons at E13.5, E14.5, and E16.5
