N normal phenotype
liver/biliary system
• glycogen stores are almost completely absent in the liver compared to in wild-type mice

mortality/aging
• between 8 and 12 weeks with no mice surviving beyond 12 weeks
• however, lethality can be partially rescued by over-expression of Zbtb20

homeostasis/metabolism
• mice exhibit increased resistin serum levels compared with wild-type mice
• in fed and fasted state
• mice exhibit increased beta-hydroxybutyrate serum levels compared with wild-type mice
• during a glucagons tolerance test, mice exhibit a reduction in the release of glucagons compared with similarly treated wild-type mice
• glycogen stores are almost completely absent in the liver compared to in wild-type mice

growth/size/body
• at P10 to P15
• at P10 to P15, mice exhibit severe growth retardation and decreased axial growth compared with wild-type mice

nervous system
