Altered fibroblast and fiber organization in P4 tendons from Col14a1tm1Debi/Col14a1tm1Debi mice

muscle
• while fibril distribution is still unimodal at P4 the distribution width is increased and there is a shift towards larger fibrils
• at P60, tendons have a prominent subpopulation of large diameter fibrils not seen in wild-type controls
• significant reduction in flexor digitorum longus maximum load and modulus at P7
• however, no difference in tendon biomechanical properties is seen at P60
• in the flexor digitorum longus at P7

skeleton

• in the flexor digitorum longus at P7

integument
• maximum stress and modulus are significantly reduced
