homeostasis/metabolism
• 4 weeks after cuff placement, mice exhibit reduced arterial intima thickening compared to in similarly treated wild-type mice with average I/M ratio 32% of wild-type
• after cuff placement and treatment angiotensinogen, mice fail to exhibit an increase in intima thickening observed similarly treated wild-type mice

muscle
• vascular smooth muscle cells exhibit reduced migration, invasion and attachment when cultured with PDGF-BB compared to wild-type cells
• however, smooth muscle cell proliferation when cultured with PDGF-BB is normal
• smooth muscle cells do not respond to angiotensinogen as a chemoattractant nor do they exhibit membrane ruffling unlike similarly treated wild-type cells unless treated with wild-type cell conditioned media

cardiovascular system
