immune system
• the percentage of immature B cells in the bone marrow is 0.2% compared to 2.7% in the bone marrow of wild-type mice
• there is a significant decrease in VDJ gene segment recombination at both the D-J step and the V-DJ recombination step
• over 30% of non-functional Igh alleles in B cells lack recombination of the J gene segments while all of the non-functional alleles in wild-type B cells have recombined J gene segments
• no recombination of the Igh variable gene segments occurs in the non-functional alleles of B cells compared to 40% of wild-type B cells having recombination of the non-functional Igh alleles
• the percentage of mature B cells in the bone marrow is 3.6% compared to 10.9% in the bone marrow of wild-type mice
• the percentage of pre-B cells in the bone marrow is 0.2% compared to 0.9% in the bone marrow of wild-type mice
