immune system
• Igk rearrangement in pre-B cells is less efficient than in wild-type cells due to limited access to variable region segments
• total B cell number in the spleen and bone marrow is decreased by about 50% compared to in wild-type mice
• the number of kappa+ splenic B cells is reduced lowering the ratio of kappa to lambda B cells to 6:1 compared to 20:1 in wild-type mice
• the number of immature B cells (B220+IgM+IgDlow) is decreased relative to in wild-type mice
• the number of pre-B cells (B220+CD43-IgM-) is increased relative to in wild-type mice

immune system
• the efficiency of rearrangement of the Igk-Eiktm1(Igh)Xu allele is lower than that of the wild-type allele
• the percent of mouse immunoglobin kappa+ B cells is reduced with the ratio of human immunoglobin kappa+ to mouse immunoglobin kappa+ B cells of about 6:1 compared to equal number of human immunoglobin kappa+ to mouse immunoglobin kappa+ B cells when the wild-type Igk allele is present instead of Igk-Eiktm1(Igh)Xu
