mortality/aging
• 20% of expected mice are missing at week 4 although Mendelian ratios are born

skeleton
• as early as E14.5, ossification is delayed especially in the parietal and frontal bones of the calvaria and in the maxillary and mandibular components of the facial skeleton
• at E16.5, delays in ossification are more prominent in the skull
• at 2 months, the coronal suture is V-shaped and irregular
• at P0, the metopic (interfrontal) suture is widened
• at 2 months, the posterior part of the metopic suture is still unossified (open)
• at 2 months, sagittal suture is shortened
• at P0, the frontal, parietal and interparietal bones are reduced in size, the anterior and posterior fontanelles are enlarged and the sagittal and metopic sutures are wide
• proliferation of osteoprogenitors is reduced in calvaria bones
• osteogenesis in calvaria bones is perturbed
• bone nodule formation in calvaria is defective
• at 5.5 months, the vault of the skull is shortened and rounded
• fewer (pre)osteoblasts are present in calvaria bones
• newborns display an enlarged anterior fontanelle
• newborns display an enlarged posterior fontanelle
• at 2 months
• at 3 weeks
• at E16.5, delays in ossification are more prominent in the bony collar surrounding the long bones of the appendicular skeleton
• long bones are 12 to 23% shorter than in wild-type mice
• fusion of the pubis and ischial bone is delayed
• at 5.5 months, the processus spinosus is poorly ossified
• at 2 months, vertebral arches are not fused
• fewer (pre)osteoblasts are present in calvaria bones
• osteogenesis in calvaria bones is perturbed
• bone nodule formation in calvaria is defective

growth/size/body
• at 3 weeks, mice have short and broad snouts
• at 3 weeks, mice have short and broad snouts
• mice are slightly smaller at birth than wild-type mice and the size disparity increases progressively with postnatally
• at P14, mice weigh 20 to 50% less than wild-type mice
• at P14, mice are 5 to 10% shorter than wild-type mice

vision/eye
• at 3 weeks
