N
• null mice show no differences from wile-type littermates up to 4 weeks of age

cellular
• cultured MEFs show a significant accumulation of cells in G2/M compared to wild-type cells (41% vs 27%), with concurrent decreases in cells in G1 and S phases
• null mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) show slower rate of growth relative to heterozygous or wild-type cells

• embryos arrested at the two-cell stage can be isolated at E3.5
• analysis of E1.5 embryos cultured for 18 hours showed that some embryos cannot divide further and arrest at 2 -cell stage

cellular
• unlike Cdc20-null embryos, chromosomes do not display metaphase configuration, but are scattered; sister chromatids are separated
• in E1.5 cultured embryos, two-cell embryos stay in metaphase for ~4 hours, then begin to wander away from the metaphase plates
