• at E9.5, the endothelial cells in the vascular network of the yolk sac are disorganized, fewer endothelial cells are present, branching is decreased and the vessels present are of larger caliber than those in wild-types
• at E10.0, the yolk sac has a 49% to 69%, reduction in CD31+ endothelial cells
• however, normal numbers of erythrocytes and erythrocyte precursors, monocytes, macrocytes and lymphocytes are present
• at E9.5 tissues degenerate and detached pycnotic cells fill the neural canal
• at E8.5 caudal development is delayed
• at E9.5 caudal development is arrested and the caudal region receding at E10.5
• at E9.5 most embryos show severely kinked neural tubes
• at E9.5 tissues degenerate and detached pycnotic cells fill the neural canal
• at E10.5 the caudal neural tube is degenerate
• at E10.5 degenerating cells are observed in the septum transversum
• at E10.5 caudal somites are disorganized and degenerate
• however, somites are observed in the cranial region

cardiovascular system
• the number of endothelial cells in the yolk sac and aorta is decreased

• however, Hnf3a+ endodermal-derived cells are present in the gut, notochord and floor plate

nervous system
• at E9.5 most embryos show severely kinked neural tubes
• at E9.5 tissues degenerate and detached pycnotic cells fill the neural canal
• at E10.5 the caudal neural tube is degenerate
