Tg(UCP3,UCP2)1Ful mutation (1 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
behavior/neurological
• regaining of righting reflex is quicker on days 2, 3, and 4 of ethanol injections in UCP2-overexpressing mice compared to wild-type controls but on day 5, latencies are the same between genotypes
• mice recover and resume locomotion more quickly than wild-type on days 2, 3, and 4 of ethanol injections, compared to wild-type but on day 5, latencies are the same between genotypes
• prior to ethanol injection, on first day of training, transgenic mice move away from hot plate at same pace as controls; 4 hours after ethanol treatment on day 1 and before and after ethanol injection on day 5 of treatment, mutants withdraw more rapidly from hot plate than control mice

growth/size/body
• mice have a higher percent of fat-free mass than wild-type

adipose tissue
• transgenic mice display reduced percent body fat (5.2%) vs wild-type (6.2%)
• mutants have less epididymal and mesenteric white adipose tissue than controls
• at 1 G, epididymal fat pad mass is smaller than in wild-type

behavior/neurological
N
• no significant differences in the means, amplitudes or phases of activity between wild-type and mutants are observed at 1-G or 2-G exposure

homeostasis/metabolism
N
• no significant differences in the means, amplitudes or phases of body temperature (Tb between wild-type and mutants are observed at 1-G or 2-G exposure
