• after week 5, mutants develop splenomegaly
• at 5 weeks there are increased numbers of lymphocytes and eosinophils in the blood
• transgenic mice have elevated levels of IgE and IgG in the blood at 5 weeks of age
• at week 5, mutants display hyperplasia of the lymph nodes
