Ntrk2tm1Lfp mutation (0 available); any Ntrk2 mutation (66 available)
phenotype observed in females
phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
nervous system
• delay in barrel formation through P6, but the deficiency disappears by P8
• innervation into layer IV of the cortex by thalamic axons is uniform (rather than segregated into individual barrels) and exhibits a reduced branching within this layer compared to controls at P6, but becomes less apparent by P8

mortality/aging
• average lifespan is 3.39 days (10 of 28 die within the first day), however those that survive past 5 days, die at an average age of 10.8 days and the maximum life span is 15 days

nervous system
• severe loss of radial fibers in the apical region of the cochlea, but less severe than in homozygous Ntrk2tm1Bbd mice in the middle and basal turns of the cochlea
• 12% reduction of neuron number in cochlear ganglia
• 94% reduction of neuron number in geniculate ganglia
• 56% reduction of neuron number in nodose/petrosal ganglia
• 22% reduction of neuron number in trigeminal ganglia
• 56% reduction of neuron number in nodose/petrosal ganglia
• 74% reduction of neuron number in vestibular ganglia
