N normal phenotype
mortality/aging
• increased mortality rate after PTZ (at 56 mg/kg) induced seizures compared to wild-type

behavior/neurological
• mutants do not develop spontaneous behavior seizure
• homozygous mutants were more susceptible to pentylenetetrazol (PTZ) induced convulsion
• homozygous mutants have shorter latencies until the first clonic convulsion and tonic extensor and increased incidence of convulsion than wild-type following PTZ administration

nervous system
• mutants do not develop spontaneous behavior seizure
• homozygous mutants were more susceptible to pentylenetetrazol (PTZ) induced convulsion
• homozygous mutants have shorter latencies until the first clonic convulsion and tonic extensor and increased incidence of convulsion than wild-type following PTZ administration

homeostasis/metabolism
• increased mortality rate after PTZ (at 56 mg/kg) induced seizures compared to wild-type

N normal phenotype
behavior/neurological
• at low doses (1 mg/kg) diazepam does not induce a sedative effect in homozygous mutants, however at high doses (3.2 mg/kg) a sedative effect is seen in mutants and wild-type mice
• mutants fall more often and earlier in a rotarod test

nervous system
• Zn2+ fails to inhibit and diazepam fails to potentiate GABAA receptor-mediated Cl- currents in mutant hippocampal neurons unlike in wild-type
