phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
reproductive system
• no sperm are produced
• in rare cases, abnormal sperm heads are observed
• most males do not produce sperm heads
• either no meiotic metaphase I or only one metaphase are observed
• rare entry into meiosis appears to lead to death of male germ cells
• all seminiferous tubules contain vacuoles
• only Sertoli cells and spermatogonia are observed
• general disorganization of tubule contents and large intertubular area are observed
• all seminiferous tubules are narrow
• testis weight is 25% of normal adult testis weight and does not exceed that for 3-wk-old males

endocrine/exocrine glands

• general disorganization of tubule contents and large intertubular area are observed
• all seminiferous tubules are narrow
• testis weight is 25% of normal adult testis weight and does not exceed that for 3-wk-old males

hematopoietic system
• platelet numbers are below normal

cellular
• no sperm are produced
