• membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis observed in mice on mixed genetic background involving 129S1/Sv and C57BL/6 and in mice that had been backcrossed to C57BL/6 background for 3 generations

• 29-fold increase in unimmunized 8-week old mutants
• 1.5-fold increase in in unimmunized 8-week old mutants
• anti-chromatin and anti-ribosome antibodies were detected on mixed genetic background involving 129S1/Sv and C57BL/6 and in mice that had been backcrossed to C57BL/6 background for 3 generations
