• 40% reduction in voluntary alcohol intake
• exhibit resistance against alcohol withdrawal-induced behavior; whereas wild-type show reduced exploration of the light compartment and fewer transitions between light and dark after alcohol discontinuation, mutants show normal exploratory behavior, similar to that seen in non-alcohol treated wild-type mice
