• some 10-20 week-old mice show diffuse immune infiltrate with tissue destruction; animals may show parenchymal infiltrate without tissue destruction or a primarily perivascular infiltrate

• at 10-12 weeks of age, prominent TAg-induced dysplasia is observed; atypia in cell nuclei and acinar architectural distortion are seen

• 99% of mice develop pancreatic exocrine tumors concisting of acinar cell carcinoma, undifferentiated carcinoma, cystic carcinoma, and mixed pattern tumors
• 3 islet cell carcinomas develop
• 77% of mice form benign or low-grade islet cell tumors
• most islet cell tumors are composed of beta cells while one expressed predominantly somatostatin
• most islet cell tumors are composed of beta cells
