• mice show increased mortality in a collagen/epinephrine-induced thromboembolism model, with 71% of mice dying of respiratory arrest within 5 minutes of model induction compared to 27% in wild-type mice

• ferric chloride-induced carotid artery injury leads to 64% occlusion after 40 minutes, which is significantly higher than the 28% occlusion that occurs in wild-type mice
• there is also increased mortality in a thromboembolism model
