phenotype observed in males
N normal phenotype
reproductive system
N
• sexually inexperienced, gonadally intact males exhibit normal erectile function
• when the observation time is extended to 2h in a sexual behavior test, only one male ejaculated 77 min after entering a female in the sixth trial whereas all wild-type males ejaculated within 35 min
• no male mice ejaculated during a 30-min test period whereas >60% of wild-type males achieved ejaculation in the third to sixth trials

behavior/neurological
N
• during a 30-min period of pairing with hormone-primed females, males show no significant differences in the mean duration of anogenital sniffing or mounting behavior relative to wild-type males, indicating normal sexual motivation
• during 30-min pairing, the mean duration of intromissions is significantly shorter in the first and second trials but reaches almost wild-type levels in the third to sixth trials
• some male mice exhibit a relatively long duration of thrusting behavior, while others show no thrusting behavior or give up after a short time
• moreover, a drastic shift is observed from non-thrusting to thrusting behavior

N normal phenotype
behavior/neurological
• mice do not exhibit taste aversion behavior following conditioning with lithium chloride injection
• however, taste preferences and sensitivity to lithium chloride are normal
• mice exhibit reduced freezing compared to wild-type mice in response to a fear stimuli
• however, pain sensitivity and motor processing capacities are normal
• mice older than 12 weeks exhibit epilepsy, particularly when placed into a new chamber

nervous system
• mice older than 12 weeks exhibit epilepsy, particularly when placed into a new chamber
