Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Endonuclease-mediated (Humanized sequence)
Mutation:    Single point mutation

Mutation details:

Arginine codon 495 (CGC) was changed to glycine (GGC) (p.R495G) using an sgRNA and an ssODN template with CRISPR/Cas9 technology. The mutation, in the fourth zinc finger (ZF4) of the encoded protein, is the equivalent of the same human mutation associated with testicular disorder/difference of sex development (TDSD) and ovotesticular DSD (OTDSD). Embryonic gonads of homozygous XX mutant mice show masculinization and kidney development in both sexes is impaired. (J:290670)
