Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Chemically induced (ENU) (Not Applicable)
Mutation:    Single point mutation

Mutation details

ENU mutagenesis induced a G-to-A mutation changing arginine codon 367 (CGG) to glutamine (CAG) (p.R367Q). The mutation, in a zinc finger domain of the encoded protein, affects DNA binding and protects carriers against neuroinflammation in cerebral malaria but also leads to increased susceptibility to pulmonary tuberculosis.
