The neo cassette was removed by Flp recombinase, leaving the exon 2 flanked by loxP sites. Cre mediated removal of exon 2 resulted in a 75 aa (28 aa Nterminal sequence of irisin and 47 aa frameshifted nonsense aa) truncation. (J:312359)
